So in posting our one house for sale, the negative comments are absolutely ridiculous. People are really mean, it breaks my heart. We bought this house many years ago.
For all the mean people who comment, Incase you’re looking, let me explain. (Even though I don’t need to.)
1.) The house was bought on a low price with the fact the city has the other half of the insurance policy being held. They confirmed, the money was there. York city now has no record of the money. 😞
2.) We have paid Taxes, sewer, and electric for years. The roof has been redone, electric has been reran to the house from the pole, underground to the box inside the house, rebuilt the inside steps so you can walk up to the 3rd floor, clean out/trash, dump fees
3.) Have paid fine after fine because neighbor on the left dumps their trash, neighbor on the right keeps calling the city.
4.) The upkeep on it so no one breaks in.
5.) Giving people a place to call home for NO money down, helping them get on their feet. Most don’t and the placement ends. A few have taken the opportunity to stay get on their feet and do well.
So imagine that loss!
Imagine doing this for years, trying to keep it going without any funding or grants to keep it open. You’re told you don’t have a big enough return for most entities to invest in 😳
So yes the house is higher priced, but according to the one across the street that sold for 150k a couple weeks before we listed ours, we thought 80k would be appropriate.
We would pay realtor fees, tithes, taxes on the sale, payoff all debt the nonprofit has acquired and yes we may profit about 5k (if we’re lucky)…
And then we go on helping people, just what God has called us to do.
