Friends of Chuck Hobbs - FOCH Chuck Hobbs is running for York County Common Pleas Judge. The Friends of Chuck Hobbs believe in the principled leadership he brings to the Office.

"My name is Chuck Hobbs, and I am running for York County Common Pleas Judge. Here is my story:

I was born on a small farm in Southern York County. My wife, Kelly, and I are fortunate enough to be able to raise our three young children on the same family farm. Growing up in a farming community taught me lessons in life that have shaped me into the principled father and husband I am today. It is m

y firm belief that our community will be facing tough issues in our future. I also believe, with principled leadership, we can build a solid foundation for our community to grow strong together. Upon this strong foundation, we can raise our children in a community that is prepared to conquer new problems with bold new ideas. Our children are counting on us to make the right decisions now. I have spent my entire career as a trial attorney representing clients, from all walks of life, in Pennsylvania State Courts, and United States Federal Court. As your next Judge of the York County Common Pleas Court, I intend to uphold the intent of Pennsylvania Constitution and the Constitution of the United States of America. I believe the role of the Judiciary is to administer and interpret the law as the Legislature intended it to be. I do not believe a Judge’s role is to create new law and legislate from the bench. One of the most important, bedrock principles upon which our government is founded, is the idea of due process. As Judge, I will faithfully adhere to the process of law, weigh all evidence with an open mind, and
administer justice fairly. I am prepared to treat everyone with respect and dignity on all sides of the bench, and to help lead our community into the future guided by faith and reason."

"Chuck Hobbs, a York County native, earned a law degree in 2008 and started his own firm in 2013. He has been a trial litigator handling areas of law that include child advocacy in dependency, parents' rights advocacy, divorce and criminal defense.
He said he is a constitutional conservative who believes a judge should refrain from making new laws from the bench and whose focus is on strengthening communities."

Nine candidates have thrown their hats in the ring to run for judge in the York County Court of Common Pleas.

Today I'm sharing Chuck's words.
When asked, "what is the number one threat to the judiciary?", he responded:

"For Hobbs, judges need to treat everyone with respect and dignity. If that doesn’t happen, he said, it could spread a belief in the community that there’s injustice."

Said Hobbs: "Even if they don't agree with the decision that is handed down, if they're treated with dignity, they will at least walk away respecting the process, respecting the judiciary.”
