This Monday is Labor Day, where we appreciate and recognize the hard work and contributions of Pennsylvania workers who strengthen our communities and economy every day. I’m proud to continue supporting efforts that advance better wages, paid leave, workplace protections, and opportunities for working families across Pennsylvania.

In observance of the holiday, my office will be closed Friday, September 4th and Monday, September 7th. We will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. Thank you!

I would like to formally acknowledge the recent top placements of York Academy Regional Charter and School York Suburban High School in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 High School Rankings.

First issued in 2007, the U.S. News & World Report releases annual rankings of public, K-8 and high schools with the stated goal of providing students and families the data and transparency needed to make informed educational choices and prepare students for college success.

This year, York Academy Regional Charter School ranked No. 1 among high schools in the York area, No. 25 in all of Pennsylvania, and No. 732 nationally.

Additionally, York Suburban High School was the No. 2-ranked school in the York area, as well as No. 60 in the Commonwealth.

Increasing the quality and access to education in York County has been one of my main priorities since taking office and the students, teachers, counselors, staff, administrators, families and community members of both schools who made these achievements possible deserve ample recognition.

Congratulations, this accomplishment belongs to all of you! I’m blessed to celebrate our students’ continued success.

I’m looking for motivated individuals to join my District Office in York as Interns. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legislative process while serving your community.

✅ Open to college students and high school seniors (18+)
✅ Assist with constituent services, community outreach, events, and more
✅ Learn about the state legislative branch and issues impacting York

I'm proud to announce announced that $6.7 million from the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will go toward four different projects here in the 95th district.

RACP provides funding for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects like these.

I’d like to thank the Commonwealth for this critical investment in our communities. Every one of these projects represents conversations with local leaders and advocates who ensured that these projects receive the investments they deserve.

I'm honored to have done my part in securing these funds for the people of York County.

Today, my colleagues and I passed a budget that strengthens our communities and invests in our future—without raising taxes for working families.

In brief, the 2026-27 budget delivers by:
✅ Investing in public schools and higher education
✅ Expanding affordable housing opportunities
✅ Providing tax relief for working families
✅ Supporting law enforcement and community safety
✅ Improving access to healthcare and services for seniors
✅ Creating jobs through workforce development and economic investment
✅ Strengthening retirement security for teachers, first responders, and other public servants

I'm proud to have voted YES for a budget that delivers real results for our community; I voted to give our retired teachers, police officers, and firefighters a long-overdue raise. And in addition, this budget invests money into our children and our future in the 95th District by increasing funding to Central School District, West York Area School District, York City School District, and York Suburban School District.

This was about practical solutions that help families keep more of what they earn, support local businesses, and ensure Pennsylvania remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The budget now heads to Governor Josh Shapiro's desk for his signature.

Today, we celebrate not only our nation's independence, but also America's 250th birthday.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a bold idea changed the course of history: that all people are created equal and deserve the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors this Independence Day, let's honor the sacrifices of those who built, defended, and strengthened our nation—and recommit ourselves to building a brighter future for the generations that follow.

My staff and I wish you all a safe, joyful, and happy Fourth of July. Happy 250th Birthday, America!

York County Office of Emergency Management has collaborated with agencies across the county to assist people that may be struggling due to the extreme heat.
