Board Highlight: Grace Staehr

Meet Grace Staehr, Economic Development Coordinator at York County Development Corporation (YCDC). Originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, Grace moved to the U.S. in 2016, became a U.S. citizen in 2024, and is proud to call York County home!

A marketer, storyteller, photographer, and community advocate, Grace is passionate about building connections and showcasing what makes York County a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Outside of work, she's a mom of two, a half-marathon runner, and a strength-training enthusiast.

Grace joined the YC3 Board to help strengthen the community she loves and collaborate with others who are committed to creating opportunities for York County families. Her favorite part of YC3? The passionate people who come together to make a difference.

"York County has given me opportunities, friendships, and a sense of belonging. I'm grateful to be part of an organization that helps keep our communities connected and moving forward."

Intern Spotlight: Sarah Lange

Please help us welcome Sarah Lange to YC3!

Sarah grew up on an acreage near Raymond, Nebraska, with her three older sisters and plenty of farm animals! This fall, Sarah will be a Sophomore at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in Political Science and Economics with a certificate in Public Policy. In the future, Sarah aims to attend law school to work in economic policy or corporate law.

Sarah will focus on the economic and policy side of YC3 throughout her internship, assisting with reports, evaluating budgets, and shadowing client support. She is passionate about promoting economic security and stability, and is eager to learn more about what this looks like for York!

When not at YC3, Sarah enjoys reading, staying active, baking/cooking, and working at a local ice cream shop in Lincoln!

We are so excited to have Sarah join the YC3 team this summer and we cannot wait to see her make a difference in the community! Welcome, Sarah!

Intern Spotlight: Alexa Carter

Please help us welcome Alexa Carter to YC3!

Alexa is from Rising City, Nebraska, and grew up on her family's cow-calf and row-crop operation alongside her parents and four younger siblings. She is entering her senior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she is majoring in Agricultural Communications and minoring in the Engler Entrepreneurship Program.

As a YC3 intern, Alexa will be focusing on communications and is excited to gain experience working in the nonprofit sector. While York is close to home, she is especially looking forward to becoming more involved in the community and learning more about the impact YC3 has across the area.

Outside of work, Alexa enjoys spending time with family and operates her own rodeo photography business.

We're excited to have Alexa on the YC3 team this summer and can't wait to see the impact she'll make. Welcome, Alexa!
