Events happening! Come join your communities!


Happy Tuesday and we hope you are having a great week! We have some exciting, community and family events coming up that we would like to invite you to.

SAT SEPTEMBER 19: BUILDING BRIDGES FOR BRIANNA: SU***DE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION EVENT: This event will take place from 12pm-6pm at Dallastown Community Park. It is free admission, live entertainment, baby goats, motorcycle ride, kids games, vendors, food trucks and all for a very important cause. Join your community for this annual event this Saturday!

SAT SEPTEMBER 26: CAR SEAT CHECKUP EVENT: This event is being held at the Center for Traffic Safety 2401 Pleasant Valley Road York PA from 9am-1pm. Registration is encouraged but not mandatory. You will have York County Sheriff's Office Deputies certified as car seat technicians who will show you how to properly check and install your child's car seat or booster seat. They will even tell you if it is time to change. You may scan the QR code on the flyer to schedule an appointment time or just show up between the times listed.

SAT SEPTEMBER 26: COMMUNITY GUARDIANS FOUNDATION PRESENTS THE 5TH ANNUAL RIDE FOR K9 AND COMMUNITY DAY: This event will start with a motorcycle ride at East Coast Iron on Trinity Road York PA. The ride will be escorted by the York County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit. The ride will end with Community Day at Union Fire & Hose Co #1 at 30 E Canal Road Dover PA. Come join vendors, food trucks, a car show, music and kids games as well as the York County Sheriff's Office merchandise tent! This event will run from 11am-4pm, but be sure to join the ride that kicks off at 9am. See flyers for more details and registration for bikes and riders. All Proceeds from this event will be donated to the K9 Unit.

🐾🇺🇸 From all of us at Protection4Paws, we would like to send a huge THANK YOU to Denny Halstead for donating this beautiful flag!

After talking with Denny, and since the event it was originally donated for had to be cancelled, we decided the best thing we could do was pay his generosity forward. 💙

We’ll be donating the flag to the York County, PA Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, where it will be auctioned off during their Spaghetti Dinner on October 4th at the York Fairgrounds - Memorial Hall (11:00 - 3:00) hope to see everyone there.

We’re so grateful to Denny for not only creating such a beautiful piece, but also for helping us turn an unexpected cancellation into another opportunity to support working K9s.

Sometimes a little generosity can travel a long way. 🐕‍🦺❤️🤍💙

Arrest Release:

On 09/08/2026 the York County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Apprehension Unit and the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force conducted a joint warrant service in the 1300 blk of Sprenkle Rd, Jackson Twp. Through significant investigation, law enforcement successfully located and apprehended wanted fugitive Steve Strausbaugh on his outstanding warrants. At the time of arrest, Strausbaugh had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Court of Common Pleas Bench Warrant – Bail Revocation Aggravated Assault
Court of Common Pleas Bench Warrant – Failure to Appear – ICC

Strausbaugh was transported to YCSO Central Processing where he was booked and arraigned. His bail was denied, and he is currently incarcerated at York County Prison.

We are happy to announce our annual K9 Unit Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser is almost here and tickets are selling now!
Adults $10
Children $5
All you can eat spaghetti, salad, dinner rolls, desserts, Rita's Italian Ice, ice cream and so much more are included with your ticket!
We are currently looking for donated items for our silent auction! If you are a business owner or have connections with any business owners, let us know! We would be happy to reach out to them.
This event is our biggest K9 fundraiser every year and it keeps growing! That is because of YOU and the amazing support you show us and our K9's.
This years lineup includes touch a truck, a photo booth, a DJ, silent auction and most importantly, K9's Prince, Mason, Miki, Bek and Wero will be there!
