Okay, I just need to get this off my chest… 😅

I’ve heard about schools banning the phrase “67” and even punishing kids for saying it. And honestly? I get it. It’s loud, it’s distracting, it’s driving teachers and parents a little nuts. 😂

But here’s the cool part — instead of fighting it, a ton of middle school teachers in Adams and York counties have totally embraced the chaos! 🙌

They’ve jumped into our “67” ice cream flavor contest for our Pop Culture Series and are turning it into something creative and fun. 🍦💡

We’ve gotten almost 100 submissions (!!!) from art, science, and English classes — even some 5th graders are trying to sneak in. Teachers from Gettysburg, Littlestown, Dallastown, Red Lion, Central York, and Eastern York… we see you. You guys are absolute legends. 👏👏👏

Now here’s your friendly reminder — the deadline to send in your class’s flavor idea is next Wednesday, Nov. 19th! And feel free to send in several ideas per class, its okay! We wanna hear them.

Dr. Sterner and I had the pleasure of visiting our kindergarten classrooms to introduce ourselves and do a read aloud. Both of us are former kindergarten teachers, so this brought us so much joy! If you take a close look at the photos, you may even catch a glimpse of some 8th graders who happened to catch us with our books and asked for a read aloud of their own. 🙂

Wishing our staff, students, and families the very best of first days today. While I wish I could be there, I’m so very thankful for being able to help Scott get settled in Vienna this semester. It’s a beautiful city and the very best one for him to continue pursuing his passion for the opera. A huge thank you to our team for allowing me the space to be here at one of our busiest times of the year.
