Celebrate International Literacy Day with the Crestwood Library on Tuesday, September 8 from 4–5 PM for a fun virtual art program! 🎨

Join artist Erica Soto as we create a cozy rendition of our very own Crestwood Library.

✏️ All you need are a pencil and a ruler, some pastels, colored pencils or watercolors, paper, and some creativity!

🕊️ Remembering 9/11: 25 Years Later

Join us for a reverent virtual walking tour of Lower Manhattan as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and reflect on the lives lost, the extraordinary heroism, and the resilience that emerged from tragedy.

We’ll explore some of the most significant memorials and spaces of renewal, including Zuccotti Park, St. Paul’s Chapel (“The Little Chapel That Stood”), the 9/11 Memorial Reflecting Pools, the Survivor Tree, and the Memorial Glade. Our journey will continue through the soaring Oculus before concluding at One World Trade Center, a powerful symbol of strength and renewal.

The Public Library Association’s latest report, News Access and Media Literacy in Public Libraries, surveyed more than 900 library professionals to explore how libraries are responding to evolving community needs, the challenges they face, and opportunities to strengthen these essential services.
