Yelm Senior Center

Yelm Senior Center 501c3 non-profit organization providing free services to seniors (50+). Friends, fun and activity is what you will find at the Yelm Senior Center.

Exercise, informative programs, games, creative arts, entertainment and many other special events are offered. The center also provides information on senior programs and resources available in Yelm and the surrounding areas. The Yelm Senior Center began in 1972 as a member run nonprofit organization. Costs are covered through membership dues, fundraisers, donations and grants. Our members are val

ued for all they contribute to our community, whether financial support, volunteering or lifting our spirits with a smile and a laugh! The membership fee is $50 per year for people 50 and older, due in January of each year. It can be paid yearly or bi yearly only. If you join throughout the year, the fee is adjusted accordingly. Did you know? Flamingos eat with their heads turned upside down. Flamingos are unable to eat normally due to the structure of its mouth. Their bills are made to filter food from the mud and water. They feed by coming through the mud with their feet and catching their prey in their beaks.

Laugh for the Day: Two blondes were driving along a road by a wheat field when they saw a blonde in the middle of the field rowing a row boat.

Did you know? Red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow. The red blood cells begin in the bone marrow as immature cells. After a week of maturing, they are sent out to the bloodstream. The bone marrow also produces 60-70% of white blood cells and as well as all of the platelets.

Laugh for the Day: A guy was in a cave, looking for treasure. He found an old lamp, rubbed it, and a genie came out. The genie said "I will grant you three wishes, but your ex-wife will get double."
