Best Stop of the Weekend πŸ‹πŸš’

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.

One of our crew found one of the best stops in town this weekend: a local lemonade stand with some seriously good lemonade and even better customer service.

Thanks to these young entrepreneurs for keeping the crew refreshed and reminding us why we love serving this community.

Bunker Boots to Bowling Shoes

Thanks for having us by, Yelm Rotary.🎳

Our on duty crew was able to stop by and support some of our off duty firefighters who traded bunker boots for bowling shoes at the Yelm Rotary Bowling Challenge.

It was a great event for youth programs in our community and not a bad night for the firefighters either.

Congratulations to on taking home the win this year.

Start with one realistic question: if your family had to leave quickly, do you have a plan?

Do you have a 5-minute plan and a 2-minute plan. Where would you go? How would everyone know it is time to leave? How would you reconnect if you were separated? What critical items would already be easy to grab?

During a wildfire, conditions can change fast. Taking a few minutes now to talk through your plan can make a real difference when there is no time to figure it out.

This week, during EMS Week, we want to recognize the Firefighter/EMTs who serve our community with skill, compassion, and commitment.

The work shown here is training, but the purpose behind it is very real. Our crews continue to practice, review, and sharpen their EMS skills so they are prepared to provide care when our community needs it most.

From CPR and airway management to patient assessment and teamwork, this ongoing training helps ensure our responders are ready for the moments that matter.

To all EMS providers serving our community and beyond, thank you for the work you do every day.

: Station Readiness

Mondays are a good reminder that readiness starts long before the next call comes in.

Today, the crew spent time cleaning the apparatus bay, maintaining work areas, and keeping the station organized for daily operations. It may not be the most visible part of the job, but this routine work helps maintain a clean, functional, and safe environment for crews, apparatus, and equipment.

Not every part of emergency response happens on scene. Some of it happens right here, one task at a time.

Ready today. Ready when needed.

MORNING CHECKS. MISSION READY.

Crews spend time going over the engines each morning to make sure the apparatus, equipment, and tools are ready before the next call comes in. πŸš’

From checking compartments and equipment placement to checking under the cab and daily readiness items, these walk throughs help keep our crews familiar with the apparatus they rely on during emergencies.

It’s part of the routine work that happens behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in making sure we are prepared when our community needs us.

A Quiet Act of Kindness

After returning from calls today, our crews were surprised with a generous donation of water.

As we move into the warmer months, hydration becomes a critical part of firefighter rehab and recovery during training, emergency incidents, and long days in the heat.

We appreciate the generously. Thank you for helping take care of the firefighters who serve our community.
