🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸

Each year on June 14, we celebrate Flag Day, honoring the adoption of the United States flag in 1777. More than a symbol, the American flag represents our nation's history, freedom, unity, and the sacrifices of those who have defended it throughout generations.

Today, we honor the flag—our symbol of freedom, unity, and sacrifice.

May we never take for granted the liberty we enjoy or the men and women who defend it. And may we continue to pray for a country that stands firm in truth, guided by faith.

PRESS RELEASE

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the arrest of TRENTON R. ROSS (18 YOM), of Yellville, on a charge of being a Minor in Possession of a Handgun on School Property.

The arrest stems from an incident at the Yellville-Summit School Panther Pavillion on Friday, May 15th, during graduation ceremonies. Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies were requested by the school Certified School Safety Officer (CSSO) to come to the Panther Pavillion due to a student being found in possession of a handgun. Deputies arrived and secured a handgun transferred to them by the CSSO, and arrested TRENTON R. ROSS without incident.

Investigators interviewed witnesses on scene who stated they were approached by ROSS prior to being let into the Pavillion. While talking with ROSS, he showed pictures of the handgun and motioned as if he had it concealed underneath his clothing. One (1) witness immediately notified school officials who acted urgently and discreetly to locate ROSS and separate him from the ceremony and attendees. While being questioned by school officials, ROSS denied having a firearm but ultimately admitted to having a firearm in a holster under his clothing.

During an interview with Investigators, ROSS stated he had been given the firearm shortly before graduation, was dropped off to watch friends graduate, and had nowhere else to put it.

TRENTON R. ROSS is charged with Minor in Possession of a Handgun on School Property, a Class “D” Felony, with a bond set at $75,000.00. ROSS remains incarcerated in the Marion County Detention Center (MCDC) awaiting his first appearance in the Marion County Circuit Court.

Sheriff Alexander states the investigation into ROSS being in possession of the firearm is on-going and additional arrests are expected.
