The YS Electric Department is out on this beautiful day to change out the utility pole that was damaged yesterday evening.

ATTENTION VILLAGERS:

This evening, a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Corry Street. The power lines connected to the pole remain energized. In order for emergency responders to safely remove the vehicle from the scene, YS Electric Department crews must de-energize the lines. This will result in a large, temporary power outage for many residents in the village.

The outage will begin sometime between 9:00–9:30 PM tonight, 9/13. The outage should last somewhere between 15–30 minutes. Note that this outage will not effect downtown.

UPDATE (11:00 AM)

Lightning hit a utility pole and cracked insulators and the switch on the pole. Rain hindered the crew with locating this issue. Crew members are currently replacing these inoperable parts and hope to have power restored within the hour. Thank you for your continued patience.

The Village of Yellow Springs Public Arts & Culture Commission — in partnership with The Yellow Springs Community Foundation and the The Beloved Community Project — proudly presents Revival: A Celebration of American Music, September 25–27, as part of the Village's America 250 celebration.

In the spirit of Help Us Make A Nation (HUMAN) and the AACW Blues Fest, Revival honors arguably our nation's greatest cultural exports by celebrating the diverse musical traditions that have shaped America's story, bringing people together through live music, culture, and shared history.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

REMINDER:

Tomorrow, September 12, the Village is partnering with Shred-It to host our annual community shredding event.

The event will be held in the Gaunt Park parking lot.

The attached flier highlights what residents can and cannot shred. Please take a moment to review these items beforehand.

Also, please note that due to the sensitive nature of document shredding, residents will need to personally hand off their materials to Shred-It employees. Doing so helps to ensure the privacy of all participants.

The YS Electric Department was out bright and early this morning to change out a voltage regulator at the Village switch station. Completed, energized, and humming along!
