Tonight marks the last Yellow Springs Brewery Community Cheers of May!

Unfortunately, DJ Radio Basim will not be joining us tonight.

However, Home, Inc. staff will be there to chat and answer questions, and the brewery is expecting the Galactic Flats food truck. Come on out for great food, great beer, and great company, all for a great cause! See you tonight!

May is affordable housing month!

Did you know that safe, affordable, and stable housing has been shown to improve physical and mental health outcomes in a variety of manners? In addition to lower housing costs freeing up family resources for healthcare and nutritious food, housing stability can reduce stress, well-maintained homes can prevent health problems that can arise from deferred maintenance and unsafe homes, and provide many other benefits that can lead to improvements in mental and physical wellbeing as well as improved outcomes in employment, education, socialization, and other areas of life.

Did you know?
In 1995, Yellow Springs Village Council adopted the provision of affordable housing as a public goal at the urging of citizens concerned about rising housing costs. That year, two members of Council and a member of the Miami Township Trustees applied for and received a charter from the State for "Yellow Springs Home Incorporated" for the general purpose of promoting diversity and affordable housing in the Village. By 1998, Yellow Springs Home, Inc. was fully formed by an all volunteer board as a Community Land Trust. The Community Land Trust model was chosen because of its balance of creating individual and community assets while keeping homes affordable over time, and the model itself also has roots in Yellow Springs.
