⚠️ WEATHER NOTICE ⚠️
At least two rounds of thunderstorms will move into the region this evening and continue overnight. Severe storms are possible. Damaging wind is the main threat, though large hail and a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. These storms can produce heavy downpours, leading to localized flash flooding.

At MTFR, we take training seriously. This week, our crews had the opportunity to learn and practice critical skills at the YSHS demolition site. They worked on forcible entry and elevator-rescue procedures in a realistic training environment. We appreciate the opportunity to use the space!

🚨 IT’S GONNA BE HOT 🚨

Temperatures will get very warm on Wednesday and Thursday and a humid air mass will remain in place. This will cause the heat index to approach 100 for the first time this year. This may cause some heat stress, especially for those people who are sensitive to heat. Stay hydrated, check on your neighbors, bring your animal friends inside (as appropriate), and crank up your AC. And as always, we’re here if you need us.

Recently we conducted training on our new thermal imaging cameras. A firefighting thermal imaging camera (TIC) is a mission-critical tool designed to translate infrared radiation into visible light, allowing fire crews to navigate pitch-black, smoke-filled structures, track fire behavior, and rapidly locate trapped victims.

During EMS Week, local hospital systems pull out the stops and provide meals and snacks to EMS crews. Thanks to Kettering Health, Premier Health, and Mercy Health for the love this week!
