Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School Celebrates an Outstanding 7th Grade Class

May 19, 2026 - The 2025–2026 school year has been one of growth, achievement, and success for the 7th grade students at Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School. Throughout the year, students demonstrated determination, resilience, and a commitment to academic excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.

From improving benchmark assessment scores in ELA and Math to participating in school activities, programs, and leadership opportunities, the 7th grade class continued to show what it means to work hard and strive for success. Their dedication played an important role in helping move the school forward academically and culturally.

Teachers and staff are especially proud of the growth students made throughout the year. Many students showed significant academic progress, improved attendance, positive behavior, and increased confidence in their abilities. Their willingness to learn and push through challenges reflects the true spirit of Woolfolk pride.

The accomplishments of the 7th grade class are worth celebrating. As they prepare to become school leaders next year, we encourage them to continue setting goals, working hard, and believing in themselves.

8th Grade Class of 2026 Celebrates Promotion Day

May 20, 2026 - Smiles, laughter, and proud moments filled the gym as the 8th Grade Class of 2026 celebrated their promotion ceremony surrounded by family, friends, teachers, and supporters.

The special day marked the end of an important chapter for students as they officially completed middle school and prepared to begin their high school journey. Dressed in their promotion attire and proudly wearing their stoles, students gathered together one last time as a class to celebrate their hard work, growth, and accomplishments.

Throughout the ceremony, students were recognized not only for their academic success, but also for the friendships, memories, and resilience they built along the way. Cheers and applause echoed throughout the gym as families proudly watched their students take this next big step toward the future.

Teachers and administrators shared words of encouragement, reminding students to continue believing in themselves and striving for greatness. Many reflected on how much the students have grown over the years both inside and outside the classroom.

β€œThis class has shown determination, leadership, and heart,” one staff member shared. β€œWe are so proud of everything they have accomplished and cannot wait to see what they do next.”

The ceremony was more than a celebration of promotion; it was a reminder of the strong bond shared among students, staff, and families. As the Class of 2026 prepares for high school, they leave middle school with unforgettable memories, valuable lessons, and bright futures ahead.

May 18, 2026 - Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School is proud to celebrate the success of our students during the 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony, where our 6th grade scholars were officially promoted from the 6th Grade Academy to 7th grade.

This special ceremony recognized the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students throughout the school year. Our 6th graders have shown resilience, determination, and a commitment to learning as they completed this important milestone in their middle school journey.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our students for their hard work and positive effort this year. We are proud of the progress you have made and excited to see you continue to grow as rising 7th graders.

A special thank you also goes to our teachers for their dedication, patience, and commitment to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Your guidance and support have made a lasting impact on our students.

To our parents and families, thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. Your involvement plays an important role in the success of our students, and we appreciate all that you do.

We would also like to thank our administrative staff for their leadership, planning, and support in making this ceremony a meaningful and memorable event.

A special recognition goes to Mr. Dewey Shaifer, who took the lead as the 6th Grade Academy administrator. His leadership, organization, and dedication helped guide our 6th grade students through a successful school year and made this promotion ceremony possible.

Please review these important details regarding the Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony.

πŸ“Œ All 8th grade students MUST report to school and will be transported by bus to Yazoo City High School.

🚌 Students participating in the ceremony are required to ride the bus from Woolfolk to the high school.
⏰ Buses will leave at 11:30 A.M.

🎀 The Promotion Ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 P.M.

Starting Strong: Community Support Powers Our 8th Grade Science Scholars

April 28, 2026 - We kicked off our testing season in the best way possible, surrounded by encouragement, positivity, and an incredible show of support from our volunteers! Our 8th grade science scholars walked in this morning to smiling faces, uplifting signs, and a community that believes in them. That kind of energy matters. It builds confidence, eases nerves, and reminds our students that they are seen, supported, and capable of success.

To everyone who showed up, held signs, and poured into our students, thank you. Your presence set the tone for a strong and positive start to testing season, and our scholars felt it.
