Several of the houses in this 1870s view looking up East Main St. (today also known as Route 88) are still standing. The large house in the center, with its entrance façade facing the viewer, is the Jeremiah Baker House (35 East Main St.).

As part of a continuing series, the Yarmouth History Center has provided the Town of Yarmouth with photographs and information about local historical landmarks and events.

Ride N Roll Safe, Yarmouth! Let’s keep everyone safe and respectful out there.

A detour is currently in place on the Royal River Park path. Please stick to the marked Main Street route, and remember to be courteous while sharing the sidewalk.

Quick tips for a smoother ride:

✔️ Slow down while riding or rolling
✔️ Travel single-file on the right (space is tight)
✔️ Use a bell or say “pardon me” —no need to shout
✔️ Always yield to pedestrians

The Town of Yarmouth's Bike & Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the Police Services Advisory Committee are jointly launching "Ride N Roll Safe Yarmouth," an inter-generational safety campaign designed to support responsible riding on our shared pathways. Stay tuned for more tips and info throughout June.
