The FD Duty Crew with Engine 80 along with Fire Police participated in a fireworks standby at Shady Brook Farms last evening.

Last evening firefighters participated in a stabilization drill focusing on cribbing and air bags.

Wednesday morning around 10:30 am YMFC members along with numerous mutual aid companies were dispatched to the Giant Food Store on Stony Hill Road for a reported building fire. Units arrived and found an extinguished freezer element in the frozen food isle of the store. Crews assisted with securing the power to the unit and removing residual smoke from the building. The Bucks County Department of Health was called to respond being the incident occurred where food is sold.

The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company was recently dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Big Oak & Stony Hill Road. FD secured vehicle hazards.

Lower Makefield Township recently received a donation from The Aliver Foundation for two outdoor AED boxes to be placed in Memorial Park and Macclesfield Park. Additionally, the Township secured a grant through our insurance provider, Delaware Valley Insurance Trusts, to purchase additional outdoor AED boxes along with new AEDs and bleeding control kits. The Township remains committed to proactively investing in emergency preparedness and community-focused public safety initiatives.

Danny Lakind, son of Firefighter Rob Lakind, recently ran a lemonade stand and collected over $50 which he donated to the YMFC.

At 1:44 am Friday morning Ladder 0 and Engine 80 were dispatched to assist Falls Township Station 30 at a building fire on Newbold Road. The fire was quickly extinguished by first arriving crews so Engine 80 was returned to quarters while Ladder 0s crew stayed on scene for approximately 1 hour assisting with ventilation and cleanup.

Thursday evening member Steve Coyle graduated from the Bucks County Community College Firefighter 1 program. Firefighter Coyle completed the summertime program which consisted of 8 weeks of 9 hour days in some extreme heat. Steve was also presented with the outstanding student award. The YMFC congratulate Firefighter Coyle on his accomplishments!
