A sad update on the fate of the former home of the late Danny Quill and his wife Ann. The decorated World War II veteran’s home will fall to an impending apartment complex development. Plans apparently include its “replication”. It really has been a heartbreak to see this historic home in Edgewood Village (Woodside) deliberately destroyed by neglect over several decades by a wealthy developer until this development plan was achieved.

Sharing this riveting report of a deadly train crash along the canal in NJ in 1903. Quite a tragedy.

👏 Wonderful to see this historic property being saved from the ravages of time. The African American Museum of Bucks County has their work cut out for them, but what a GEM! Looking forward to seeing it restored and active again. Thank you County Commissioners for creating this opportunity for preservation.

A " Thing You Didn't Know". The earliest known settlement in what is now Morrisville, was a trading post of the Dutch West India Company operating from 1624 to 1627 on an island in the Delaware River. In its early days, the area was known as Crewcorne and was a part of Falls Township. Later, one of the first ferries to cross the Delaware was established at the site. By the late 18th century, a settlement was forming at the ferry crossing then known as Colvin's Ferry. The settlement incorporated into a borough in 1804, taking the name of Morrisville, after Founding Father Robert Morris. In that same year, the first bridge built across the Delaware connected Morrisville to Trenton.
