Hello Makefield Elementary School PTO - I know I haven't used this page as much as I originally intended. I'm sure many of you can relate, life has a way of becoming incredibly busy with work, family, sports, school activities, and all of the day-to-day responsibilities that come with them. For that, I sincerely apologize.
Unfortunately, this will also be my final post on this page, as I have some important news that I would like to share with all of you in the letter below. While this change comes with mixed emotions, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your support and to share this next chapter with you.
Dear Makefield Families,
As this school year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to share some personal news with you.
After five wonderful years serving as your Certified School Nurse, I will be transferring to Pennsbury High School for the upcoming school year. While I am excited for this new opportunity and the next chapter in my career, it is certainly bittersweet to say goodbye to the school community that has meant so much to me.
Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of caring for, supporting, and getting to know your children. Whether it was helping a student through an illness or injury, managing medical needs, offering reassurance during a difficult moment, or simply sharing a smile and conversation throughout the day, each interaction has made this experience incredibly rewarding. Watching your children learn, grow, and develop into confident young people has been one of the greatest joys of my career.
I want to sincerely thank you for the trust you have placed in me over the years. It has been an honor to partner with you in helping keep your children healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Your kindness, support, and collaboration have meant more to me than you know.
Although I will miss seeing your children every day, I am comforted by knowing that many of our paths will cross again. As they continue their educational journey and eventually make their way to Pennsbury High School, I look forward to welcoming them once again and seeing the remarkable young adults they have become.
Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your children's lives. The memories, relationships, and experiences I have gained during my time at Makefield will always hold a special place in my heart.
I wish you and your families a safe, happy, and healthy summer, and I wish all of our students continued success in the years ahead.
With gratitude,
Danielle Barnette-Eckenrode, M.Ed., BSN, RN, CSN
