Day 8 with Missouri Valley Master Gardeners. The Master Gardeners have been providing Yankton Seed Library classes since 2015! Participants not only get to learn about gardening but also receive free seeds! Thank you, Missouri Valley Master Gardeners, for all that you do!

We are gearing up for the 2023 SDSU Extension Master Gardener Basic Training course, to begin in March. The training will cover a broad spectrum of horticultural topics including plant and soil science; disease, insect, and w**d identification; culture of horticultural plants; and more. Meet Rhoda Burrows, Professor & SDSU Extension Horticulture Specialist. Dr. Burrows has been a Master Gardener trainer for about 20 years, and provides a wealth of experience to trainees. In her role at SDSU, Dr. Burrows provides support for commercial fruit and vegetable production and marketing in SD, organizes production and food safety workshops, obtains funding for educational and research publications and programs, and collaborates with regional and national extension efforts.

On Thursday, August 18 at 2 pm, Master Gardeners will discuss seed saving. Learn what seeds you can save and the dry and wet methods of seed saving.

Bergeson Nursery will be closed on Sunday, April 24th.

We will be having a Remembrance Ceremony on that day at 2 pm in the Fertile-Beltrami High School gymnasium. We will stream the ceremony here on Facebook, technology permitting.

Coffee and donuts will be served at the remembrance ceremony.
