Lawmakers were introduced to NCAPCO, NCNENA and the 9-1-1 professionals that serve each of their communities. This Memorial Day, Caswell County 9-1-1 honors and remembers the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🇺🇸

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness secured the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we gather with family and friends, attend ceremonies, or enjoy the long weekend, let us pause to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who never made it home.

From all of us at Caswell County 9-1-1, we extend our gratitude to the fallen, their families, and all who continue to serve.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” ❤️🤍💙

The Families Behind the Uniform

A lot of people see the ambulance and the uniform, but they do not always see the family standing behind that EMS provider.

The family that eats supper without them sometimes.
The kids who wait for mom or dad to get home from a long shift.
The spouse who understands holidays may be spent at work instead of at home.
The family that worries every time the phone rings late at night.

EMS is not just a sacrifice for the provider; it is a sacrifice for the whole family.

Today, we want to thank the families who support our EMS providers through the long hours, stressful days, missed time together, and everything that comes with this profession. Your love and support help make this job possible.

Thank You To Our Neighboring EMS Agencies

During EMS Week, we also want to recognize our neighboring EMS agencies in Person, Rockingham, Alamance, and Orange Counties.

Thank you for the standbys, the mutual aid, the extra ambulances during overwhelming call volumes, and for always being willing to help when our community needs it most.

In EMS, county lines do not matter when someone needs help. Your crews have treated our patients like your own, worked alongside our providers during difficult calls, and answered without hesitation when assistance was needed.

We are thankful for the partnerships, teamwork, and friendships built between our agencies over the years.

Thank you for everything you do for our county and the surrounding communities every single day.

The Calls People Never Forget

There are calls EMS providers will remember forever.

Some are heartbreaking.
Some are stressful.
Some have happy endings.
Some stay with them long after the shift is over.

EMS providers walk into situations most people never see and somehow still find the strength to comfort others during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Today, we recognize the emotional strength, compassion, and heart it takes to serve in EMS. Thank you for always being there for this community, no matter the call.

The Long Hours and Sacrifice

EMS is not a normal job with normal hours. It is long days, sleepless nights, missed holidays, and 24-hour shifts away from family and home. While most people are sleeping, EMS providers are still answering calls, helping the sick and injured, and responding when someone needs help the most. The work can be exhausting, both physically and emotionally, but they continue to show up every day ready to serve others.

Today, we recognize the sacrifice EMS providers and their families make for this community. Thank you for the long hours, the dedication, and the heart you bring to this profession every single day.

Our Positivity Crew is at it again! To recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, our Positivity Crew took on the task of making bags filled with goodies for our staff. Simple reminders to “take care you” go a long way to help keep our staff emotionally ready for the next call.

The Training Never Stops

When you call 911 for a medical emergency, you expect the people responding to know exactly what to do. That confidence comes from constant training and preparation.

EMS providers do not stop learning after school. They continue attending classes, quarterly training, and hands-on skill practice throughout their careers, often on their days off and away from their families.

They train for the calls they hope never happen. They practice life-saving skills over and over so when someone’s life is on the line, they are ready.

Most people never see the hours of preparation behind the scenes, but that training matters every single day in our community.

Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and commitment it takes to serve in EMS. Thank you to all EMS providers for always working to improve, learn, and stay prepared for the next call.
