There is a new scam going around.

I am editing this post because I forgot to list a phone number that was used it is 405-383-3471, the call will also show up as restricted.

If anyone calls you about someone you know or are related to and is trying to get you to post a “Facility Bond” to get anyone in jail bonded out.

First Jail Staff does not call you trying to get you to bond anyone out.

Second here is the definition of “Facility Bond” in Oklahoma:
In Oklahoma, "facility bond" can refer to different things: a
surety bond for long-term care facilities to protect resident funds, bonds for public capital improvement projects issued by entities like the Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority (OCIA) or the City of Oklahoma City, or private activity bonds for projects with public benefits, as outlined in Oklahoma statutes. The relevant type of bond depends on the specific context and purpose

So if anyone calls you and is wanting you to pay to bond anyone out of jail my recommendations would be DON'T. I have never known of Jail Staff reaching out and trying to get an inmate bonded out.

There will also be variations of this I'm sure.

So PLEASE share this and as always if you get an odd phone call please feel free to reach out to Yale Police Department at 918/387-2403 tell Dispatch why you're calling and ask to speak to any of our Officers.

Due to the recent fires we are asking citizens to keep aware, keep their camera's charged, and keep their houses locked. If you have a vacant house, check in with Yale PD to discuss extra patrol and different ways to protect and secure your property.

We also are asking for any tips we can get. You can call 918-387-2403, text 918-509-8059, or report them anonymously to the ProtectOK app.

We are also working with the Fire Marshall Service, and would like to make sure all houses in Yale have a smoke detector. If you do not, please text or call at the above number and leave a message for Officer Alle Hammons and I will get with you about getting a smoke detector installed.

Keep an eye on your house, try to watch out for your neighbors, and if you see something - say something.
