Food Artisan Collaborative aims to help local food entrepreneurs in the Yakima Valley be successful. Our goal is to build partnerships and exchange between businesses, nonprofits and the public sector to support small local food businesses. Together we help materialize this support into resources entrepreneurs can use to solve problems and capitalize on good ideas. We are a new network of entrepre
neurs and supporters. Our current goals are to:
• Expand access to affordable shared commercial kitchen space
• Understand and build awareness of the challenges small food businesses face
• Spread solutions, build partnerships and draw upon community assets to address the needs of small food business
• Share and develop resources such as workshops, shared kitchen profiles, networking events, and online references
• Encourage exchange and local purchasing relationships between food businesses and producers of all sizes
• Help small food businesses connect with market opportunities
• Celebrate local food businesses and promote the value and many joys of connecting people with good food made locally. We believe we can do things together that we can't do alone. Our aim is to be a big tent where everyone in the community can join this effort and benefit from its work. We encourage you to join us! If you are not a food business or related group you can support us by helping to get the word out, sharing resources and ideas, helping us translate resources into Spanish, contributing space for events, donating professional services, or helping with organizing activities. And remember, every time you buy local you are supporting local entrepreneurs!
