🎉 September is National Senior Center Month! 🎉

At YVEDDI Senior Services, we believe senior centers are so much more than buildings—they are places where friendships grow, lives are enriched, and communities come together. ❤️

This September, we are celebrating our incredible senior centers in Yadkin and Surry counties and the older adults, families, volunteers, staff, and community partners who make them special.

North Carolina is home to more than 170 senior centers, and Governor Josh Stein has proclaimed September as Senior Center Month in North Carolina, recognizing the vital role senior centers play in supporting older adults through fitness and wellness programs, educational opportunities, nutrition services, volunteerism, social activities, and meaningful connections.

This year’s theme, "Happier Birthdays Happen Here,” is a wonderful reminder that a fulfilling life is about more than birthdays and celebrations. It is about having a place to belong, people to connect with, opportunities to stay active and engaged, and a community that values you.

And that is what happens every day at YVEDDI senior centers. 🌟

Whether it’s sharing a meal, joining an exercise class, learning something new, playing a game, volunteering, creating something beautiful, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee and good conversation, there is always a reason to connect.

Just a reminder! Our Line Dance Class on Wednesdays will be canceled for a few weeks due to the instructor having surgery. We will dance next week 9/2/26 then take a break for a few weeks. I will let you know when we will resume classes.

FYI, NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO PARK ON THE MASONIC LODGE SIDE OF THE PARKING LOT ON FRIDAY 8/7/26. They are having a drive through port-a-pit BBQ pick up. Please park in back, on the kitchen side and across the road on this day!
