A big thank you to Tacos Sensacion for making sure our Yacolt Firefighters got a good meal this evening after helping with the Hidden Meadows Fire. We had two different crews working the fire today and several volunteers who responded to back fill the station, ensuring emergency services continued for our citizens through out the day.

Some crews are starting to be released. Water Tender 52 is back in Yacolt. Squad 51 remains on scene assisting The DNR and our Neighbors Clark County Fire District 10.

Crews have made significant progress on the fire. Keep an eye on CRESA (Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency) for reduce evacuation notice information.

🚨 Serious brushfire incident near hidden Meadows Drive off Highway 503. Multiple departments and DNR resources are on scene, including Clark County Fire District 13 Water Tender 52 and Squad 51 crews. DNR Helicopter drops are currently taking place. Please take an alternate route into and out of North Clark County. Large emergency vehicle presence ON THE ROADWAYS AND SIDE DRIVEWAYS please stay back and allow crews to work. ⚠️

We are getting more calls and social media inquires regarding the smoke. As of this post there is no imminent fire threat to our area. The High Lava Fire in Skamania County is still active, but, per the most recent update is still within established fire lines and fire crews are performing burn out operations which may be contributing to the smokey conditions. We will certainly update our page with any life or property safety information should a local situation occur. You can also check our partner agencies social media pages for updates as well if you are closer to their service areas.

Burn ban update and road closures

Informational for those traveling up towards Sunset Falls campground and the 41 and 42 roads.

Additionally all fire are now banned including camp fires per the Clark County Fire Marshals Office.

Propane fueled fire stoves, and camp fires stoves are ok.

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest has expanded the emergency closure order for the High Lava Fire. The fire is estimated at 1,500 acres and is burning northwest of Stabler, Washington, and west of the Trapper Creek Wilderness.

The order restricts all motorized use as well as pedestrian access for the duration of the closure. The area closure will remain in effect through October 31, 2026, unless modified or rescinded sooner.

The closure encompasses numerous trails including the West Crater trail and trailhead, the Soda Peaks trail and trailhead, the Siouxon trail and trailhead and all the trails in the Trapper Creek Wilderness. The closure also includes the Canyon Creek dispersed camping area and multiple roads adjacent to the fire area.

It’s Bright and early, our crew is heading out again as part of the Clark County Strike Team. Volunteer Firefighters Sean Labarbera and Kelan Murray departed from the Yacolt fire station, enroute to join up with the rest of the team in Ridgefield at station 21. They will then make the drive to the Little Giant Fire up in Chelan County to assist with firefighting efforts. Thank you Sean and Kelan and the entire Clark County Strike Team.
