When you’re 118lbs of Rottweiler, staying cool is serious business! ☀️💦

This big handsome guy, Butch, decided pool time was the perfect way to beat the heat — and honestly, we can’t blame him. Between the splashes, smiles, and soaking up all the attention, Butch proved that even giant dogs know how to have fun. 🐾

Who says 118lbs of muscle can’t enjoy a little pool party? 😎🐶

A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing Greene County Animal Control volunteers who helped make this past weekend’s adoption event at Petco in Kettering such a success! ❤️🐾

Special thanks to Monica, Mary, Pam, Laura, David, Autumn, along with Marcia and Miranda (not pictured) for donating your time, energy, and love to help our shelter dogs shine.

BB, Fletcher, Flower, and Melanie absolutely appreciated all the love, treats, pets, and socialization they received throughout the event. While we didn’t have any adoptions this time around, the event was still a huge success because we were able to build awareness about just how wonderful these dogs truly are.

A special thank you also goes out to the Petco staff for helping make this event happen and supporting our mission to find loving homes for animals in our community.

Every event, every conversation, every pet, and every treat help these animals become more comfortable, more social, and one step closer to finding their forever homes. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to show support — and thank you to our volunteers for continuing to make a difference every single day. 🐶❤️

Update: Mika is back home safe with her family!

Have you seen me? Mika went missing yesterday, she is microchipped but not fixed. She is a mini-Aussie Shepherd who has one blue, one brown eye, and she doesn't have a tail. Her owners are looking everywhere for her. If you see her, please contact the number or email on the flyer.

Here’s a super sappy, emotional bio for Bosart that leans into his sweet personality and sad face while keeping it adoption-focused:

🥺🐾 **Why is Bosart still here?** 🐾🥺

Some dogs bark for attention. Some dogs jump and spin and do everything they can to stand out.

Bosart just looks at you.

With those big brown eyes, his droopy little sad face, and the expression that seems to ask, *“Did I do something wrong?”* 💔

Bosart is a 3-year-old brown and white American Staffordshire Terrier weighing around 62 pounds, and somehow this absolute sweetheart is still waiting at Greene County Animal Control.

He’s only been with us since the beginning of the month, but it didn’t take long for our volunteers to fall completely in love with him. Because Bosart makes it easy.

He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be close to people. The kind of dog who greets everyone like an old friend. The kind of dog who doesn’t realize how big he is when he leans his whole body into you for affection. The kind of dog who gives love freely—even after ending up in a shelter.

And maybe that’s what makes his sad little face hurt a little more.

Because behind those eyes is a dog who doesn’t understand why he’s here… only that every day he watches people walk past his kennel hoping today will finally be his turn.

Bosart doesn’t need perfect. He doesn’t need fancy. He just needs someone willing to love him as much as he’s ready to love them back.

His volunteers already know what a gem he is.

Now he just needs a family to see it too. ❤️
