"Hello Wolves! I'm Mr. Sparks, the new EL Social Studies teacher at Wyoming High School. I've taught language learners of all ages and backgrounds, including at an elementary school in Japan where I lived for two years. I'm a computer and video game nerd who loves movies, has two adorable cats, and plays pickleball almost every day. I'm looking forward to meeting and working with all the students and staff of Wyoming!"

"Hey, I’m Grant Bush. I’ll be teaching Biology and Chemistry at Wyoming High School. I just graduated from Grand Valley State University. I love doing physical activity like, working out, playing basketball or golf, and any sort of yard game. I’m excited to get working with all the new students."

"I am the new Wyoming High School counseling secretary. In my last role, I served as a parapro and administrative assistant at an online high school. I’m excited to be back in person full-time this year and to interact more directly with students and staff! In my free time, I enjoy writing and volunteering with two nonprofit organizations—one is a Grand Rapids-based online mental wellness community, and the other is national and supports families affected by congenital heart defects."

Welcome Noah Harvey! 🐾

"My name is Mr. Harvey. I will be teaching 8th grade U.S. History at Wyoming Junior High School. I graduated from Michigan State University (Go Green) and completed my Masters in Teaching at Calvin University. I am originally from the suburbs of Detroit, so I am a huge Detroit Tigers and Pistons fan. In addition, I love movies and can quote most of the Harry Potter series. I student-taught in 7th grade at the Junior High last year, so I am excited to see familiar faces and look forward to meeting new ones. I am thrilled to be joining such a warm and caring community, and I am excited for a great year ahead!"

"Hi! My name is Abigail Whipple, and I am excited to join Wyoming High School as a Resource Room teacher this year. I graduated from Cornerstone University in May and am thrilled to begin my teaching career at Wyoming. A fun fact about me is that I played soccer at Grace Christian University, so Wyoming has been home to me for the past few years. I am looking forward to a wonderful year and am so excited to be part of the Wyoming community!"

"I will be the English teacher at the SLA. This is year nine for me; I spent several years teaching in Indiana and several more in Texas. When I'm not teaching, I'm spending time with my two boys outside or I'm crocheting a new project. I am excited to join the Wyoming Wolf Pack and bleed purple!"

"Hello, my name is Ashley Waltersdorf. I am a school social worker and will be at Wyoming Intermediate School this school year. I have worked in child welfare as well as at Vista Charter Academy in the Grand Rapids Area. I have two sons and love to find fun outdoor activities and places for my family to explore. I am excited to start at Wyoming!"

“I think if we always want staff to be growing in their practice, it’s important to model that as a leader,” Nathan Walters, Wyoming Intermediate School Principal said. “Reading is a way to educate myself, to make sure that I’m continuing to stay up on what works as we do this hard work in public education."

This new principal taps into lifelong lessons from books and the basketball court in leading Wyoming Intermediate School.
