After completing the repair, the hydrant was tested to ensure it would operate correctly when needed.

With the Wyoming County Volunteer Firemen’s Convention coming up later this month, we wanted to give everyone a sneak peek at the shirts we will be selling this year.

This year’s design is a throwback to the 1996 County Convention, and we were excited to work with the same company that created the original artwork back then. At the same time, we wanted to honor and appreciate our former Engine 5, which will be raffled off this fall during Appleumpkin.

Tickets for Engine 5 are available now, please message us or they will be available at the convention. There will be no shirt presales — shirts will be first come, first served during Convention weekend.

We hope everyone likes the design, and we look forward to seeing you all at Convention

Occupation: Retired Army Sergeant (E-6) 🇺🇸

Hobbies: Hunting and fishing.

Time in the Fire Service: 28 years

What made him join the fire service:
“I served my country, and I wanted to serve my community.”

What he likes most about WH&L:
“The people. We are not just firefighters—we are a family.”

Most memorable call:
“On January 1st, we had a 4-alarm fire and it was nearly -30 degrees outside. We didn’t give up. The people around the fire scene came out to feed us, bring us hot coffee, and even let firefighters into their homes so we could warm up. We were on scene for 13 hours. It really does take a community to make a difference.”

Thank you, Ken, for your years of military and fire service, and for your continued dedication to the Wyoming community. 🚒👏🇺🇸
