📣 Southern Community – We Need Your Input!
As a member of the Southern Board of Education, I want to personally invite you to our Community Input Forum as we begin the search for our next Superintendent.

This is your chance to share what qualities, skills, and priorities you believe are most important for the next leader of Southern Public Schools. Your voice and feedback will play a role in this important decision.

We currently have three seats for you to serve our school board. What does that mean, to serve your school board as an elected official? Our Nebraska Association of School Board has detailed below what this would look like for you. You have till March 1st to make this decision; the incumbent deadline has passed.

Your VOTE matters! Ballets for the school bond issue need to be dropped off into the Election drop box on the southeast corner of the Gage County Courthouse by 5pm Tuesday, September 14th.

If you put it in the USPS box today, it may not get to the post office in time. Please drop it off at the Courthouse.

Construction companies have summited proposals and we will be reviewing those in person with each company on Tuesday, August 10, starting at 6:00 pm. It was compelling to see the design options each company proposed.

As part of our master plan for the future, your Board of Education has decided:
+ invest in higher quality early childhood education by adding a preschool wing to our current elementary building
+ a multi-purpose gym to be used by all students in the district and community
+ fix the drainage issue at our elementary to ensure our children have more opportunities to be on the playground when the weather has arose
