🚨 MISSING PERSON ALERT – HELP US LOCATE ROBERT REDD 🚨

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Robert Redd, an elderly male who suffers from dementia and is currently missing.

Mr. Redd’s vehicle has been located on U.S. Highway 319, south of Wrightsville; however, Mr. Redd has not yet been found.

Due to his medical condition, there is significant concern for his safety and well-being. Deputies and assisting agencies are actively searching the area, but we are asking residents to remain vigilant and check any property, outbuildings, wooded areas, trail cameras, hunting cameras, or other locations where someone may seek shelter or become disoriented.

If you have seen Mr. Redd, have surveillance footage from the area, or have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 478-864-4003 or call 911.

Fire Department personnel are conducting training at the court house tonight. There is no emergency happening. Personnel will be training for a couple of hours.

We're asking all Georgians to do your part in preventing the spread of wildfires as response teams work around the clock to contain those currently blazing.

Hydrant Testing Tonight

Tonight firefighters will be conducting hydrant testing around 9pm in our district. This is a requirement of Verisk/ISO which is the organization that rates fire and emergency services. This rating helps you as the homeowner with your insurance rates. The fire department gathers flow data on the hydrants, which helps us determine which hydrants are the best to access, when responding to a fire-related emergency.

Citizens should be advised, the testing and flushing of hydrants can cause some discoloration in the water for a short amount of time. If you notice discoloration turn your faucet on and let it run, it should clear the issue up after a few minutes. Also, it is best to avoid washing clothing while the testing occurs, to avoid the possibility of stains.
