Teammates - I’ve been getting a lot of messages about the Social Security Payroll Tax Deferral, set to go into effect for the September mid-month pay.

Unfortunately, neither military members nor civilian employees are eligible to opt-out of the deferral. If your monthly basic pay is less than $8,666.66, Defense Finance and Accounting Service - DFAS will temporarily defer the 6.2% Social Security Tax withholding.

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) and Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) are joining forces to provide a full-day Virtual Military Spouse Employment Symposium on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 9am to 3pm EDT. This virtual event is for military spouses and will feature expert panels, guest speakers, and interactive workshops, all focused on empowering military spouses.

Veterans Su***de Awareness - 22 Days Pushup Challenge.
An average of 22 Veterans commit su***de daily

The rules are simple:
* Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day.
* Every day you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Do them in any way you can. Effort is what counts…not form.
* Every day you must nominate a different person.
* And finally, have fun with this. This is a simple and interactive way to get the word out about a matter that we must continue to shed light on.

I was nominated to do 22 push-ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness for our military veterans. Studies show, we lose 22 veterans a day to su***de, and the hope is this small act shows our teammates they are never alone. We must continue to address the stigma surrounding mental health and proactively remove any guilt, shame, or resistance which stands in the way to seeking care.
