Wrangell Public Schools We are a public school system in the City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska serving students in grades Kindergarten - 12.

Wrangell’s Public School Board believes that understanding, acknowledging, and honoring cultural diversity is a must and that all children, given adequate opportunity and support, can learn. They agree that setting high standards, which set high expectations, produces high achievement. They think that results matter and teaching for results builds accountability for results. The results of this focus and effort is the proud report of all three schools having met the indicators of Adequate Yearly Progress (APY) as determined by the State of Alaska and the graduation rate being over 90%.

The Stikine Middle School Cross Country Team wrapped up a wonderful season, with every runner improving their times and overall fitness. Mariah, Malachi, and Jude led the team with standout performances across multiple races this season. Many of the 8th-grade runners have impressed us with their growth, especially seeing how far they’ve come since 6th grade.

The team traveled to compete in Petersburg earlier in the season, and we were thrilled to host Petersburg for a home meet last week.

A big shout-out goes to Devyn Johnson in her first year coaching middle school cross country! She did an excellent job leading this energetic crew, offering the inspiration and guidance that fueled their success all season long.

Big news from Stikine Stories! We are excited to announce that Erika's film is an official selection for the Anchorage International Film Festival and will screen live in Anchorage this December. Quinton's film is heading to Los Angeles to screen live at the Red Nation International Film Festival on November 13! Huge congratulations to both filmmakers!

Congratulations to our Wrangell Wolves XC teams on their outstanding second-place finishes at the ASAA State Championships in Anchorage!

A special shoutout to our top-10 finishers: Jackson, 2nd; Jenna, 4th; and Ryder, 8th!

Our runners worked hard all season, and their determination showed at State. They pushed through illness, colder-than-usual temperatures, and the challenges that come with competing at the highest level all while continuing to give their best and proudly represent Wrangell.

Our coaches and runners are excited to build on this momentum and see what next season brings!

And finally, a heartfelt thank-you to our inspiring leaders, captains, and seniors, Jackson and Alana. You have given so much to this team not only through your performances, but through your leadership and encouragement.
