Have you ever wished something was different for kids or families in your community, but weren’t sure how to actually make change happen?

Our Parent Leadership Training Institute teaches people how schools and local government work, how to advocate for children and families, and how to turn an idea into real community change.

It’s open to parents, grandparents, guardians, foster and kinship caregivers, aunts, uncles—really anyone who wants communities to show up better for kids. We meet Thursday evenings starting September 10, and we provide dinner, childcare support, and transportation assistance.

Tabitha's Trove will be having a "soft opening" tomorrow to work out the kinks prior to their first Wednesday next week, as after that, they will be open EVERY Wednesday for families in need of clothing.

Tabitha’s Trove Soft Opening
Join us Wednesday, August 5, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. for the soft opening of Tabitha’s Trove, a children’s clothing ministry of St. John Lutheran Church.

Tabitha’s Trove provides free children’s clothing to families in Luverne, Rock County, and nearby communities.

Parents are invited to come browse and find clothing for their children at no cost.

📍St. John Lutheran Church - 803 N Cedar Street, Luverne, MN - Please enter through the Little Lambs entrance off East Adams Avenue.

Can’t make it on August 5th? Tabitha’s Trove will be open every Wednesday for parents looking for children’s clothing.

Two important recent updates to online resources.

1️⃣Renewal Lookup Tool
The ability for enrollees to submit exemptions to work and community engagement requirements through the lookup tool has been extended to September 30, 2026. https://mn.gov/dhs/federalchanges/renewal-lookup/

2️⃣Noncitizen adults
The lawfully present noncitizen adults webpage has been updated with information about MinnesotaCare eligibility for enrollees if they lose their Medical Assistance. https://mn.gov/dhs/federalchanges/noncitizen-adults/
