🧡 Today, we recognize Elder Abuse Awareness Day and stand together in support of the safety, dignity, and well-being of older adults in our communities.

Elder abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, and neglect. By raising awareness, we can help protect vulnerable seniors and ensure they are treated with the respect they deserve.

We are proud to wear orange today as a symbol of our commitment to ending elder abuse and supporting older adults everywhere.

Join us in spreading awareness, starting conversations, and showing your support by wearing orange. Together, we can make a difference. 🧡

Our Elderly Department is happy to announce that we will be celebrating Elderly Abuse Awareness Month.

As part of this important awareness campaign, we will be hosting a workshop on June 15 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We encourage everyone to help spread the word to our clients, families, and community members so we can raise awareness about elder abuse and promote the well-being and safety of older adults.

We also invite all staff and our clients to wear orange on June 15 to show support for Elderly Abuse Awareness Month and stand together in protecting and advocating for our seniors.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday | Healthy Relationships & Mental Wellbeing
Healthy relationships play an important role in our mental health and overall wellbeing.
The people around us can affect how we feel, cope with stress, communicate, and view ourselves every day.
Supportive and healthy relationships can help reduce stress, increase feelings of safety and belonging, and improve emotional wellbeing.
On the other hand, unhealthy relationships may lead to emotional exhaustion, anxiety, isolation, or low self-esteem.
Healthy relationships are built on:
• Trust
• Respect
• Honest communication
• Healthy boundaries
• Support and empathy
Communication is one of the most important parts of any healthy relationship.
Listening without judgment, expressing feelings clearly, and respecting each other’s boundaries can strengthen relationships and reduce misunderstandings.
It is also important to recognize signs of unhealthy relationships, such as:
• Constant criticism
• Lack of respect
• Manipulation or controlling behavior
• Poor communication
• Feeling emotionally drained
Taking care of our mental wellbeing also includes practicing healthy daily habits such as:
• Getting enough rest
• Staying physically active
• Taking breaks from stress and screens
• Connecting with supportive people
• Practicing mindfulness and self-care
In this Wellness Wednesday, we talk about:
• Why healthy relationships matter
• Characteristics of healthy relationships
• Healthy communication habits
• Setting healthy boundaries
• Warning signs of unhealthy relationships
• Ways to support ourselves and others
💛 Reminder:
Healthy relationships should make us feel respected, supported, and safe.
Setting boundaries is not selfish — it is part of protecting our mental wellbeing.
Let’s replace judgment with empathy, and strengthen our communities through support, communication, and kindness.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday | Understanding Catastrophic Thinking
Sometimes our minds automatically jump to the worst possible outcome —even when there is little evidence that something bad will actually happen.
This is called catastrophic thinking, and it can make situations feel much more overwhelming, frightening, and hopeless than they truly are.
Catastrophic thinking is common during times of stress, anxiety, uncertainty, or emotional overwhelm.Thoughts like:“What if everything goes wrong?”“I made one mistake, so I failed.”“They did not respond, so they must hate me.”can increase fear, anxiety, overthinking, and emotional exhaustion.
These thoughts may feel very real —but thoughts are not always facts.
When catastrophic thinking becomes constant, it can affect:• Mental and emotional wellbeing• Self-confidence• Relationships and communication• Decision-making and daily functioning
The good news is:our thoughts can be challenged and reframed.
With support and healthy coping skills, people can:• Learn to recognize unhealthy thought patterns• Reduce anxiety and emotional intensity• Practice realistic and balanced thinking• Build healthier coping strategies• Feel more in control of their emotions
In this Wellness Wednesday, we talk about:• What catastrophic thinking is• Common examples of catastrophic thoughts• How it affects mental health• Ways to challenge negative thinking• How we can support ourselves and others
💛 Reminder:Not every thought is true.Difficult moments are temporary. And asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Let’s replace fear with awareness, and judgment with support.
