MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
The City of Worland offices will be closed and employees will be off this Thursday & Friday, December 25th & 26th for Christmas.
Sanitation services after Christmas will resume on Monday, December 29th.

We will also be off on Thursday, January 1st for New Year's Day.
Sanitation services will resume on Friday, January 2nd.
Please anticipate your needs.

As you all know, ice jams are hard to predict! In light of that, we have made sand and sandbags available in 2 locations:
1) The Fairgrounds in Worland
2) Behind the Fire Department in Ten Sleep

If you are concerned about ice jam flooding affecting your home, you are welcome to fill sandbags and use them to proactively protect your home. We ask that you take only what you need to protect your home.

We do not know if ice jam flooding will occur, but it IS a possibility and we want to give homeowners the opportunity to protect their homes if needed.

UPDATE 2/10/25
The water level in the river has dropped significantly. We will continue to monitor the water levels as we go through the freeze/thaw cycle these next few weeks. Conditions can change quickly, so stay alert and stay safe!

Heads up for everyone who lives along the Bighorn River - the river has finally frozen over at the bridges/Riverside Park and the water level is rising. Crews will be monitoring conditions periodically throughout the night. If you live near the river, be aware of changing water levels.
