So sad
In 56 days, Illinois residents may see giant 20+ foot solar panels surrounding their homes. This is a result of Illinois' new 'Wind and Solar Facility Law' that takes effect on June 1st, and your local town or county will not be able to stop it.
As a result of legislation approved by Illinois Democrats.
Local officials are angry because State of Illinois made recent changes in the law. The result: Your local town council or County Board will no longer have the option to say 'no' and nearby residents could be bracing for the possibility of having 20-foot-high solar panels surrounding their homes.
Illinois's "Wind and Solar Facility Law" (Public Act 102-1123, approved by Democrats and signed by Gov Pritzker, is a law that strips local governments their power to say "no" or set tough local rules on big commercial wind and solar farms..
Under current law, local governments can use local zoning ordinances to block, limit, or heavily restrict these projects—deciding things like how close turbines or solar panels could be to homes, how much farmland they could cover, or even banning them outright in agricultural zones. Governor Pritzker's law changes that completely for commercial-scale projects (wind facilities, and most utility-scale solar farms).
This is a result of voting for Democrats and their "green" mandates.
No more local bans or moratoriums: Counties cannot prohibit wind or solar farms, pause new ones, or create rules that effectively block them.
Get ready for more of these monstrosities in your own backyard starting on June 1st!
