The national weather service as issued a heat advisory for our area from
Wednesday at noon until Friday at 7pm with peak dangerous heat between 1pm and 5pm daily.

We can expect to see heat index (feels like temperatures) between 95 and 104 degrees with night time lows remaining relatively warm (mid 70s) which will not allow for any significant cooling.

Please take precautions to avoid heat related illnesses and check on elderly neighbors and other folks that may be at risk.

The State of Vermont has issued a list of cooling centers: https://vem.vermont.gov/shelters

The Vermont Health Department also has the following resource: https://www.healthvermont.gov/environment/climate-health/hot-weather

If you or a loved one have signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.

*Not all shelters and cooling centers will be listed here; only those reported to VEM. You can call your town to ask about local warming centers, or call 2-1-1 to find a facility.
