Thank you to everyone who donated in honor of Dolly to support our library and schools!

Thank you SO much to everyone who participated in Dolly’s Book Drive at Polar Park this weekend. Thanks to the generosity of WooSox Nation, more than 1,200 books were collected and will be donated to the Worcester Public Library and Worcester Public Schools❤️🦋📚

The late Dolly Parton, “The Book Lady,” donated more than 300 million books to children all over the world through her Imagination Library.

One of the greatest in so many ways… RIP Dolly! ❤️

Today, we’re saying goodbye to a true champion of books, children, and the power of a good story.

Dolly Parton’s legacy goes far beyond music. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she helped put hundreds of millions of books into the hands of children, inspiring generations of young readers to dream bigger, imagine more, and discover the joy of reading.

As a library, we know just how powerful that gift can be. Dolly understood that a book can open a door, spark a dream, and change a life.

Thank you, Dolly, for helping make the world a little more literate, a little more imaginative, and a whole lot kinder.

May we honor her legacy by continuing to put books in the hands of children.
