Nick Amster moved to Hillcrest Drive where it could upgrade shipping and receiving facilities and have additional room to expand. All of the production services moved in 2008 to the Wooster Industrial Center on Old Mansfield Road. The new space consolidates the all the work teams in one location and provides ample space for production work. This location serves 155 individuals who chose and have the abilities to work in production. is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. In 2016, the Board began steps to privatize Nick Amster in preparation of State mandates to eliminate workshops under county Boards of Developmental Disabilities.

Today was a great day of building skills, giving back, and making a difference in our community!

Our team spent time working on a variety of hands-on skills, including painting, spreading gravel, and assisting with a community project that will help create a home and resource that benefits others for years to come.

These opportunities not only help develop valuable work and life skills, but also allow us to take pride in contributing to something bigger than ourselves. We are grateful for the chance to learn, grow, and make a positive impact alongside our community partners.

Our individuals wanted to create a Memorial Day craft, and after looking at different ideas online, we settled on these fun and vibrant Memorial Day wreaths! ❤️🤍💙

This activity gave everyone the opportunity to express creativity, make choices together, and work on skills like following directions, fine motor skills, and teamwork. Most importantly, we had a great time creating something meaningful while celebrating, learning, and honoring Memorial Day.

We had a great day visiting the The Cleo Redd Fisher Museum, where we had the opportunity to learn about the rich history of the Mohican area! 🏛️

Our individuals enjoyed connecting with staff, asking questions about the exhibits, and learning more about the stories and history of our local community. It was a wonderful experience to step back in time, explore the past of our area, and meet new people along the way.

Our individuals are absolutely loving their volunteer experience with Wayne County Habitat for Humanity Restore as they assist with projects that help support building a new home in our community! 🏠❤️

Through this opportunity, our individuals in the Vocational Habilitation program have been learning and developing so many valuable skills including landscaping, painting, cleaning, organizing supplies, and handling multiple tasks. Beyond building practical job skills, they are also gaining experience working alongside community members, learning teamwork, task delegation, and receiving hands-on training in a real-world environment.

This has been an incredible opportunity for growth, inclusion, and community engagement, and we are so grateful for the experience.

A very big THANK YOU to Wayne County Habitat for Humanity ReStore for opening your doors and providing such a meaningful opportunity for our individuals. We appreciate your partnership and support! 👏
