Woodward Academy Woodward Academy strives to provide a safe and structured environment for our clients. Woodward Academy also offers a non-residential program, the Day School.

Woodward Academy is a residential treatment program that delivers trauma-informed treatment services to youth between the ages of 12-18. The Day School serves male and female students from the greater Des Moines and surrounding areas who are struggling in the public school setting. Our programs are aimed at redirecting delinquent, negative behaviors to positive, socially acceptable patterns.

At Woodward Academy, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy and mindful that those freedoms were secured through courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. Graduation isn’t just a ceremony for us — it’s a reminder of every step that brought them here and every dream that now feels a little closer.

To our graduates: you have filled our halls with laughter, questions, determination, and heart. You’ve shown resilience when challenges came, courage when change arrived, and character in the moments that mattered most. Every student, every staff member, and every family deserves a community that sees them, supports them, and reminds them that they never have to navigate hard days alone.

Mental health isn’t a moment — it’s an ongoing journey. Some days feel steady, some feel heavy, and all of them are valid. Here, we encourage our students to check in with themselves, speak up when they need help, and lean on the trusted adults and peers who care deeply about their well-being.
