WPD would like to remind citizens that this weekend is the last weekend that open burning is allowed for yard waste only. Open burning will be allowed on Saturday and Sunday only. All the details can be found on the City’s page.

Also the city wide clean up will be taking place Saturday morning and once again there will be volunteers picking up curbside items that have been pre-arranged with the city. Please be watching for these crews and give them plenty of space when passing them on city streets and go slow!!

And lastly we want to remind everyone of the new Hands Free law in Iowa. Please put your cellphones down and drive safe…

Live Streaming Videos- playing or recording
Holding your phone to talk, text, scroll, or entering GPS data.

Allowed Activities:
Using Hand-Free features or single touch activation of a mounted device.

Officer Tom wants to wish all Woodward residents a very happy Thanksgiving and a reminder to have a plan! Buzzed driving is drunk driving! Enjoy the festivities with your family and friends but be safe and have a sober driver!
