It's that time of the year again and we're noticing a higher volume of bicycles, scooters, etc out and about. I want to take a moment to remind adults/juveniles while out riding your bikes, scooters, etc to please operate them with due regard to your safety and the publics safety. Please follow all laws while on the roadways, stop signs, lights, etc. Please do not blow through stop signs or dart across roads, etc. We do not want to see anyone get hurt or worse. Please educate your children as well on safe operations of their bikes, scooters, etc.

Everyone be safe and enjoy the changing weather.

Mayor Danny Sanchez, Fremont City Schools, and our Community Relations Commission are working hard to provide important public safety information to our students and families regarding e-bikes, bicycles, and electric scooters, as concerns continue to grow within our community.

The Fremont Police Department will be enforcing applicable laws during routine patrols, while School Resource Officers will be working directly with students and schools to provide education and awareness. In addition, a social media outreach campaign will take place over the next month to help spread information to the public and encourage everyone to follow local and state laws.

Our shared goal is to promote safety, increase awareness, and help prevent a serious accident in our community.

5 years ago we swore in Sergeant Harper! Sergeant Harper always says "Time flies when you love where you work". She has been a great asset to our agency and community, we're lucky to have such a committed Officer. Congratulations on your 5 years, only 20 more to go, but remember "time flies" 😉

UPDATE: Our phones are back on full operation. Just a friendly reminder, 419-849-3020 should always be used if you're trying to report an incident, get in contact with an officer, etc. This number is forwarded to our dispatch center if we are unable to answer it on station. 419-849-2211 is our non emergency office number, which will not forward over to dispatch and you can leave a message for an officer to call you back whenever they get the message(not time sensitive stuff).

Our phone lines appear to be down and we're working to get them repaired. For emergencies please call 911 or otherwise until further notice please use 419-334-6433 to contact dispatch and get in contact with an officer. Thank you for your patience while we address the issue.
