Collaboration between citizens and law enforcement agencies consistently produces rewarding outcomes. On May 14, 2026, The Amite County Sheriff's Office was conducting an investigation in Centreville, MS, when they obtained a lead that led them to the stolen generator from the Wilkinson County Health Center in Woodville, MS, over the weekend. While the property has been recovered, the investigation is ongoing, with the aim of holding the individual(s) responsible accountable. Chief Rutledge would like to express gratitude to the Amite County Sheriff’s Office and all the citizens who shared the information and remained vigilant.

πŸŽ§πŸ’› National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week πŸ’›πŸŽ§ April 12th–18th

This week, we proudly acknowledge and celebrate our dedicated telecommunicators during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Our dispatchers are the primary point of contact in times of crisis, providing calm and composed voices on the other end of the line when every second counts. They are the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to ensure our officers, first responders, and community members receive the assistance they need.

Our telecommunicators play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our municipality. Their professionalism, composure, and dedication often go unacknowledged, but their impact is invaluable.

To our dispatchers β€” thank you. Thank you for serving as the vital link between our community and the help they need. Thank you for the long hours, the missed holidays, and the unwavering commitment to serving others.

Please join us in showing our appreciation this week. If you know a telecommunicator, take a moment to thank them for all they do. πŸ’™
