Today, we were treated to a FANTASTIC lunch by Woodsville High School JAG for International Firefighters Day. Luckily, we didn’t have any calls after because some of us needed a nap!

May 4th, International Firefighters Day. 43 years ago when I began my journey in the fire service, there was no day of recognition, in fact it began in 1999. I feel that one of the best advancements in the fire service is the recognition of our people, not only the praise, but the psychological and physical issues that it can cause.
Today I am proud of the continued advancements that we make to recognize these quiet hero's, and most proud to be able to lead, and work with some of the finest of the finest humans I know, and I truly appreciate all they give!
If you see a firefighter today, let them know that you appreciate them.

🚨 Public Service Announcement – Haverhill, NH 🚨

Tomorrow morning, Woodsville High School will be hosting a Mock Crash event to educate students about the dangers and real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving.

This important training exercise will involve multiple emergency agencies, including:
• Haverhill Police Department
• Woodsville Fire Department
• Woodsville Ambulance
• DHART (Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team)
• Grafton County Sheriff’s Office
• Ricker Funeral Home
• Cottage Hospital

🚁 What to Expect:
Residents should be aware of a heavy presence of emergency vehicles and a helicopter in the Woodsville area during the morning hours.

⚠️ Please Note: This is only a drill. There is no cause for alarm.

Thank you for your understanding as we work together to promote safety and awareness for our community’s youth.

The Haverhill Recreation Department's Easter egg drop event was a resounding success, filled with enthusiastic children. Appreciation is extended to the Haverhill Recreation Department, Haverhill Police Department, and Woodsville Fire Department. Donkeyball brought the laughs, the energy, and a whole lot of fun this past weekend. It was great to see our community come together, pack the stands, and support this long-standing local tradition!

🏆 And we have some BIG news… Cottage Hospital is officially the 2026 reigning Donkeyball Champions! 🏆

A huge THANK YOU to the Woodsville Fire Department for hosting the 29th Annual Donkeyball Tournament, and to Green Mt. Donkeyball for putting on such an entertaining night. You truly made it a night to remember!

We’re so grateful to be part of a community that shows up, cheers loud, and knows how to have a good time 💙
