Residents who were evacuated due to the gas leak on N Main St may return to your homes.

Woodstown Borough officials are aware of reports of dead geese at Woodstown Memorial Lake.

As a precaution, residents are asked not to approach any geese in or around the area due to recent reports of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in south jersey.

While HPAI can infect humans, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has declared that the ongoing HPAI outbreak is primarily an animal health issue that poses low risk to the health of the general public. While the risk is low, we advise members of the public to limit contact with dead wildlife and to keep children and pets away.

***No parking on street during snowstorm***

With the upcoming snowstorm this weekend, we would like to remind everyone that parking on the street during a snow event impedes snow plowing efforts. Borough ordinance § 87-19, “Parking unlawful during snow emergency” addresses this issue.

Specifically, the ordinance states:

“Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XVII (§ 87-39), no vehicle shall be parked upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVII until 48 hours after all snowfall has ceased or until such earlier time as the streets or highways have either been plowed sufficiently and the snow removed to a sufficient extent to permit the normal flow of traffic or until such earlier time as the streets have been cleaned through natural causes sufficiently to permit the normal flow of traffic and so that parking, once resumed and permitted, will not interfere with such normal flow of traffic.”

New Jersey has enacted a new law regulating electric bicycles (e-bikes) and electric scooters (e-scooters) to improve safety for riders, pedestrians, and motorists.

This law applies to all motor-powered bicycles and scooters. If it has a motor and can move on its own, it is treated as a motorized bicycle under New Jersey law.

Key Rules:
• Riders must be at least 15 years old
• Riders 15–16 must have a motorized bicycle license
• Riders 17+ must have a valid NJ driver’s license
• E-bikes and e-scooters must be registered and insured

6-Month Grace Period:
The State has announced a 6-month grace period for registration and insurance compliance. This does not apply to underage riding, unsafe operation, or local sidewalk/park rules.

Safety Reminder:
Helmet use is strongly encouraged for all riders to reduce the risk of serious head injuries.

A Note for Parents and Guardians:
We encourage parents and guardians to have open conversations with their children about safe riding habits and understanding the rules of the road. A few simple conversations and clear expectations can go a long way in helping prevent injuries and keeping everyone safe.
