Location: Poconos

In order to properly restore and conserve the weathervane on the Kirby House Lighthouse, we needed to use a cane for removal. The weathervane was made in the late 19th Century. I am currently rebuilding its large surface- 14 feet long by 6 feet high. Gilded in 24 karat gold, this is a massive undertaking.

It was restored 10 years ago with great incompetence and all the gold came off. Proper oil gilding should last 50 to 70 years. I wil share the final product once restoration is complete.

Thanks to all who attended the Salem County Open House Tour 2018 and to the Salem County Historical Society. Here's a short look at The Samuel Shivers House from Friday's tour. The music room is coming along beautifully. I can't wait to share more progress with you all.
