Homelessness and eviction affect more than housing—they impact families, stability, health, education, and entire communities.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing books that offer powerful insight into the realities of housing insecurity and the challenges families face when they lose a place to call home. These can be heavy reads.

We’re starting with Evicted by Matthew Desmond, a compelling and eye-opening look at how eviction shapes the lives of families struggling to make ends meet. Through real stories and extensive research, this book highlights the human impact of housing instability and why it matters to all of us.

There is a national day for just about anything. But when that day helps spread kindness that is one we can get behind! What are some words of kindness you use OR have been told, and it turned your day around?
Some words of kindness can be easy and simple.
"You're doing great!"
"Love your shirt/dress/shoes etc."
"You are enough."
"Your smile lights up a room."
"You got this!"
"We see you trying your best."
Or if you don't feel comfortable talking to strangers. A small act of kindness also goes a long way.
-Hold the door for someone.
-Smile at a tired parent in the checkout line.
-Leave a quarter at Aldi's
And don't forget to be kind to yourself.
-Other people's opinions do not define you.
-Making it through the day is a success.
-Challenges make you strong.
-Being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared. It means you are scared but do it anyway.

Spread kindness. Always.

We’re urgently in need of:
Canned soups & stews, canned fruits & vegetables, cups of noodles, peanut butter & jelly, granola bars, cereal, and shelf-stable milk.

Your donation helps a neighbor get through the day and stay connected to support.
