Congratulations to this week’s Cat’s Meow Award recipient, Ms. Kolbey Kelley!

Last week, Mill Creek hosted our first optional teacher-led professional learning session focused on Freckle, our new customized learning tool. When asked to lead the session, Ms. Kelley stepped up, explored the platform, and prepared a meaningful learning opportunity for her colleagues.

That willingness to lead carries into her classroom and team as well. Ms. Kelley consistently challenges her students to achieve at high levels while supporting them throughout the learning process. She is also a dependable teammate who is willing to contribute, problem-solve, and help others grow.

Thank you, Ms. Kelley, for your leadership, initiative, and commitment to our students and staff. We are thankful to have you at Mill Creek!

🎤📚 7th Grade ELA is doing it AGAIN… being awesome with interviews! 👏

Mrs. Atwell and Ms. McPherson’s students took their learning beyond the classroom as they interviewed Dr. Vecsey and Ms. Frey for their project, “What Can One Generation Learn From Another?” 💬✨

Earlier in the week, students formulated thoughtful interview questions to prepare for speaking with someone from a different generation. Their questions covered everything from technology and entertainment to life lessons, experiences, and advice for the next generation. 📱🎶💡

What a great opportunity to learn, connect, and discover that while generations may have plenty of differences… there’s always something we can learn from one another! ❤️

Way to go, 7th Grade ELA! 🎤👏📖

🦇 Holy Interview Skills, Wildcats! 🦇

Our 7th grade ELA students with Robinson and Stodola put their interviewing skills to the test! 🎤📝 They practiced asking thoughtful questions, listening carefully, and keeping the conversation going—because even superheroes need great communication skills!

And our guest interviewers? Batman, Catwoman, Principal Meade, and Admin Leigh Gutierrez! 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Holy field trip to Gotham! 🦇 These students were bat-tastic interviewers, proving they’re ready to tackle any question that comes their way!

POW! 💥 BAM! 💥 WHAM! What a fun way to learn! ❤️💛🖤

🌎🎉 **Learning + teamwork = a whole lot of fun!**

Mr. Moss’s 6th Grade Social Studies students had a blast making connections with a **geography vocabulary matching game!** 🧩 They matched vocabulary words with pictures and definitions while putting their knowledge to the test.

What a fun way to review and show what they know! 🌎🗺️👏 **Learning was definitely in the air!** 💙🐾

🍑📜 **DID YOU KNOW?** Georgia’s original **Charter of 1732** laid out the rules, reasons, and ideas behind the founding of our colony!

Today, Mr. Wheeler’s 8th Grade Georgia Studies students became **history detectives!** 🔎 Instead of simply reading the centuries-old charter, students matched quotes from the original document with the **reasons and rules that helped establish Georgia.**

Who knew studying a 294-year-old document could be this much fun?! 🤓📚🍑
