Town Staff had a great morning walking up to the Town's newest asset, the Vondell Reservoir. There is nothing like a morning hike during foliage to reset, recuperate, and appreciate the wonder of working in Woodstock.

No Swimming Advisory for Kedron Brook

Today our Wastewater Department received E Coli results from our normal testing yesterday at the South Woodstock Plant. The results came back positive for E Coli above the permitted limit. At this time, we are advising against any recreational swimming in Kedron Brook. We have retested and will have new results on Monday.

Thank you,

Town of Woodstock

Are you interested in volunteering and helping Woodstock?

Well, you are in luck! Woodstock has plenty of opportunities for you!

The Selectboard is looking to create a new marketing committee to assist in promoting Woodstock to tourists, businesses, and new residents. This is a unique and important committee that will help shape the future of our beloved community!

The Selectboard is also looking to create and support a July 4th Fireworks committee. If you are interested in working on and creating a fun community event around our country’s birthday, this committee is for you!

Finally, if you love and want to help South Woodstock’s community, there is an opening on the South Woodstock Design Advisory Committee.

Dear Woodstock Community Member,

The Town of Woodstock’s water department will be performing maintenance from Tuesday, June 3 – Thursday, June 6, 2025. Please note that water services may be interrupted during these days. We appreciate your patience during this time allowing us to resolve the maintenance issue.

Per State of Vermont requirements, we are issuing boil water notices and notice of work to affected areas. If you do not receive a boil water notice at your location on Monday, June 2, you are not under a boil water notice.

Boil requirements will be lifted once the tests sent to the State are returned showing negative for total coliform. If your boil water requirements are lifted, you will be notified on Thursday, June 6.

Once your water has been restored, you may see discoloration, which is normal. If you do have discoloration in your water, please run your water at a cold temperature and at a high volume (such as in a bathtub), until it runs clear. Please refrain from washing any white items in the clothes washer until your water runs clear.

Thank you.

Attention Village Residents:

The remainder of the hydrants will be flushed Wednesday morning starting at 2AM.

•Flushing hydrants may cause temporary discoloration and turbidity of the water. We apologize for any inconvenience to our users, however this very important system maintenance procedure must be conducted each spring. The flushing program allows the pipes to be purged and the hydrants checked for proper operation.

•Users are advised to avoid drinking the water or washing clothes (especially whites) while discoloration is in evidence. Following hydrant flushing in your area, users should run cold water until it clears before resuming normal use. It is also a good idea to flush residential water heaters after the water clears following a hydrant flush in your area.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Woodstock Department of Public Works

Hi,

I would like to apologize for the short water disruption on this morning. Our crew have been flushing hydrants all week and this is the first (and hopefully last) issue we had. When attempting to flush one of the largest hydrants, they noticed the pressure was not strong enough to fully flush and clean it. They, therefore, increased the water pressure and by doing so, fully cleaned the hydrant. But since this process (intense water cleansing) was not done in the past, it took nearly 20 minutes to have the water run clear and thus complete the process. This increase in pressure over a larger than normal time period is what led to the unplanned water disruption. We apologize for any inconvenience. There are a few more hydrants to flush but we will be doing those next week and overnight to ensure no inconvenience for Woodstock residents.

Update: Water is back on. Please run your cold water until the water is clear

05/09/2025

Hi All, we are finishing up flushing hydrants today. Currently there are issues with water due to some of these hydrants not being flushed in the past. Water will be restored shortly. Once water is restored, run your water cold until it becomes clear.
We apologize for any inconvenience
