MCDH uses social media as a way to directly engage with people who live and work in McHenry County and educate them about public health. By having a platform on social media, MCDH aims to:
• Improve promotion of MCDH events, programs, partnerships and engagement throughout McHenry County
• Increase transparency
• Increase the public’s knowledge of public health and the many ways it touches their
life
Social Media Comments Policy Guidelines
The purpose of this page is to present matters of public interest related to the MCDH and to provide a forum for discussion that is inclusive, social and constructive. Questions, comments and concerns are encouraged, but please note this page is moderated and is not a public forum. Comments must be civil, on-topic, and free from any profanity, vulgarity, slurs or purely personal attacks. 1. Profane/Personal: Content containing material that is profane, obscene, pornographic, or material of a purely insulting nature that is directed at a particular individual is not allowed. MCDH’s business related to the public at large, and comments and content should reflect matters of public concern, not matter that are personal or private in nature.
2. Discriminatory: MCDH does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, religion, age, s*x, gender identity, disability, s*xual orientation, income, or past or current drug use. Threat/Safety: In their sole discretion, MCDH moderators will remove threats to the safety of others.
4. Political: MCDH is not in the business of campaigning, politicking or electioneering and such content will be removed.
5. Commercial advertising: Solicitations or commercial advertisements (i.e. content that advertises a product or service) will be removed.
6. Illegality: Material promoting or providing instructional information about illegal activities will be removed.
