We are very excited to be a part of the Typewriter Trail!

🖨️ A Trail Worth Typing Home About!

At its peak in the 1920s, Woodstock produced nearly half of the world's typewriters. Now you can see that legacy up close!

The Woodstock Typewriter Trail is a self-guided journey through the City of Woodstock celebrating the Oliver Typewriter Company and the innovation that helped shape the City of Woodstock and the world. Find authentic Oliver Typewriters in local storefronts, many originally made right here in Woodstock, each paired with a unique story that brings the past to life.

The trail runs June 23 – November 23, 2026. Kick it off with us on June 23 at a special National Typewriter Day event at the Woodstock Public Library (Woodstock, IL) featuring author and collector Jett Morton.
